Opening INTERTAIN Lab

On Friday 16th April 2010 the Intertain Experimental Research HomeLab at the Department of Computer Science, at the VU University Amsterdam opened its doors. The program included external keynotes, in-house demonstrations and walk-through the lab facilities.

INTERTAIN Demonstrations I: Sensors

  • 3D molecular interaction visualization (VU Chemistry dept. demo)
  • Bio sensors used in bike training  (Lifestyle Informatics project demo)
  • Location tracking using in-house micro-GPS sensors

INTERTAIN Demonstrations II: Interaction

  • Distributed applications using Android phones  (Interdroid project demo)
  • Visualization of a remotely running galaxy simulation  (Ibis project demo)
  • Interactive applications on multi-touch tables and large LCD screens

INTERTAIN Demonstrations III: Digital Cultural Heritage

  • Semantic Cultural Heritage (E-culture project video and demo)
  • Personalized Museum Tours (CHIP project demo)
  • Video Tagging Games (PrestoPrime demo)
